The Hotel stands in the heart of Vezzano Ligure, an ancient, medieval village in the hills at the back of the famous, wonderful Cinque Terre. Our guests can then enjoy the perfumes and the peace of the countryside but also the uniqueness and the marvels of our unforgettable seaside. Before the minute restoration the hotel was the cloister of the adjoining Church of S. Maria Assunta: today stay at Al Convento allows the guest to go back in time and discover again those sensations, those distant scents and that human heat that will turn the stay into a memorable revival of the past.

The nice furnishing makes each room cosy and warm and the guest can’t avoid to be attracted by this charming atmosphere.

At the reception guests can rely on the help of a qualified staff with a perfect knowledge of foreign languages.

From June to September the genuine, continental breakfast is served in the outdoor, pretty terrace whereas in the Italian garden guests can relax in absolute quiet and privacy.

Our restaurant: the Locanda del Viandante.

Its two rooms with vaulted roofs and massive walls keep the story of merchants and pilgrims who stopped in Vezzano to rest during their journeys along the Francigena Way. The fabulous cook Pepy, a Vezzanese DOC, was stolen to the restaurateurs of Monterosso who, for many years, delighted the international customers with her cooking. Today Pepy kneads for the Locanda her sgabei, her tagliatelle, her ravioli and many other delicious dishes of the typical local cooking.

At the Locanda there is a large choice of courses: among the first dishes we can mention the mesciua, the fresh handmade pasta, the tagliatelle with pesto sauce, the scarpara (a local dish), the spaghetti with mussels and the ravioli filled with ricotta or fish or meat. Among the second courses there is the saddle of pork with milk, rabbit chasseur, stew, grilled steak, tagliata, fried anchovies, roast fish, grilled prawns and king prawns.

The wine list proposes a selection of good Liguria and national labels: besides the loose local wine there are Vermentini and red wines DOC from Luni’s hills (Liguria), Chianti, Montepulciano and Morellino di Scansano (Tuscany) Greco di Tufo and Fiano di Avellino (Campania) and Moscati e Passiti of Cinque Terre and Pantelleria to link together the dessert.

Cakes finally are always handmade according to the ancient tradition of our grandmothers.

In summer then our guests can dine in our beautiful garden, the ideal place for romantic dinners by candlelight!
